Ken Biegeleisen

Ken Biegeleisen, a noted physician, scientist and author, graduated from the NYU School of Medicine and completed the N.I.H. Medical Scientist Training Program (“MD-PhD” Program) in 1978.
 
Dr. Biegeleisen co-founded the Phlebology Society of America, which evolved into the American College of Phlebology, the national organization representing members of the medical profession specializing in treatment of diseases of veins.  He pioneered and taught widely of the merit of catheter-based treatment of venous diseases, which has led directly to the current set of laser and radio frequency based ablation devices now being used throughout the world.
 
At the same time he has been continuously active in the study of DNA structure, which has recently culminated in his publication of the structure of the protamine-DNA complex.
 
He was featured in numerous magazines including Harpers Bazaar, Glamour, Woman's Day and Lady's Home Journal and was interviewed on many TV and radio programs.
 
Dr. Biegeleisen has been published in numerous scientific journals, including theYear Book of Vascular Surgery,  the Journal of General Virology, Clinical Medicine, Angiology, Virology, and was the editor of Proceedings of the 10th, 11th and 12th Annual Congress of the Phlebology Society of America.
